The year was 1967. The Viet Nam war raged. Haight-Ashbury was at its height of infamy. Mickey Mantle was closing his storied career. And in Ogden, Utah, Dee Livingood opened the doors of a company that would eventually become one of the nation’s largest and most admired construction firms: Big-D Construction.
The “D” was an abbreviation of his first name. The “Big” not only symbolized his physical stature, but also his character. Friends and associates would, indeed, agree that Dee was (quite literally) bigger than life when it came to his leadership style, work ethic, honesty, attention to detail and passion for quality.
Today, his vision and values continue to influence the employees he trained and nurtured. And they continue to fuel Big-D’s growth.
Big-D Signature was launched in 2001 to provide white-glove services for resorts and private estate customers – those with discerning tastes and a penchant for perfection. Because Big-D Signature shares identical inclinations, the result has been, dare we say, dramatic success.
In the process, our community-centric approach has enabled us to strengthen local economies by creating jobs for existing residents and by supporting local merchants, vendors, suppliers and retailers.
That’s called a “win-win.” That’s the way Dee did business. And that’s the way Big-D Signature does business.
